Form follows function, mind influences body, ecosystems seek balance, an act of random kindness can tip the balance of a day. We witness these intersections every day at Floataway Community, where we work in industrial warehouses reborn as creative loft office space and walk through community gardens reclaimed from brownfields.

The 2017 Form & Function speaker forum at Floataway Community will explore the intersections between nature and design, mind and body, art and community, and more. Guests will enjoy complimentary food and drink from neighborhood restaurants and local brewhouses preceding and following a short presentation by the evening’s VIP speaker. Each evening will include an interactive workshop, activity or discussion designed to give event guests the rare opportunity to connect in a meaningful way with presenting speakers. 100% of proceeds from this quarterly series directly support Zonolite Park and Nickel Bottom Garden.

Exploring the Intersection of Mind and Intuition with Jamie Butler

Psychic medium and international wholeness expert Jamie Butler, founder of the Center for Love and Light, will explore the intersection between mind (our logical selves) and intuition (our deepest nature). She’ll lead the audience in exercises designed to help us discern which part of our brains (the logical left or the intuitive right) are dominating our decision making, and she’ll share techniques for balancing those energies.

Jamie’s talk will be followed by a lively Q&A panel with Jamie and two of her Love and Light Institute partners  Colleen Zeigler (Pranic Healer, Mother) and Darshana Patel (Medium, Channeled Healer, and Host of Vimeo show enLight’n Up). Guests will have a chance to ask questions and speakers will share insights about how cultivating intuition can enhance and inform practical decision making.
